ECNL RL CLEARANCES & COACH REGISTRATION

The instructions below are for coaches of teams playing in the ECNL-RL. Click HERE for information about USYS clearances.

STEP 1: Complete the YMS Coaches Volunteer Application

 

STEP 2: Once your YMS volunteer application is approved, you'll be added into GotSport to upload your ECNL-RL requirements, and Athlete One for team management. (Approved sideline volunteers will also need to complete continuing education training though Coaches' Voice.)

 

STEP 3: Email admin@ymssoccer.net when all requirements are complete and uploaded.

The ECNL-RL/U.S. Club Soccer requirements need to be completed in GotSport. When you log into GotSport, click on your dashboard. The U.S. Club Soccer requirements will be listed below the USYS requirements.

STAFF REGISTRANT ANNUAL CERTIFICATION (Due after June 1st for the upcoming season)

  • Click Details
  • Click Submit New Report
  • Answer the questions and submit the form.

 

ADVERSE ELIGIBILITY LIST REVIEW (Due every other season)

  • Click details to launch the form.
  • Follow the instructions.

 

SAFESPORT

U.S. Club Soccer rules say that SafeSport certificates must be dated after June 1st for each upcoming season, so even if you are on a different timeline with your existing SafeSport, you will need to renew it. You should be able to launch SafeSport from within your GotSport account.

One SafeSport Trained Core or Refresher course is required each year, and it should be the next course in the four-year cycle of:

  1. SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation, which is also referred to as “Core” training
  2. SafeSport Refresher 1
  3. SafeSport Refresher 2
  4. SafeSport Refresher 3
  5. In year 5, start the cycle again with the Core Training

After the course is complete, download and save a copy of your certificate as a PDF.  (You can also access your certificate within the "TRANSCRIPT" page of your SafeSport account.)

 

BACKGROUND CHECK (Due every other season. For 2026-27: Full background check must be completed and passed on or after June 1, 2025.)

  • Click Details to launch the Background Check.
  • Answer the questions and sign the form.
  • Click Submit.
  • You will be prompted for payment. ($27.55)
  • This is a 2-step process. Check your email for a message from JDP with instructions for the next steps to complete & submit the background check OR you can go back into your GotSport dashboard and click on the "View/Submit" button to the right of the Background Check requirement to launch the 2nd step.

 

MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION PAYMENT STATUS:

It probably says "Not Valid" and is not clickable. You do not need to worry about this. Your registration payment will be made by the Club Admin.

COACHES VOICE EDUCATION

Coaches Voice education is required for each coach in the technical area of the player sideline. Login instructions will be communicated to those individuals separately. 

Once your Coaches' Voice account is set up, follow the instructions below to access the required training modules. The completion of the modules will be automatically uploaded into your Athlete One account.

  1. Go to REQUIRED LEARNING > ECNL Season 2026/2027 Season Folder
  2. Complete all 4 Core Modules:
    • Coaching Craft
    • Mental Health
    • Player Care
    • Small Sided Games
  3. Choose 1 Technical Module (or more if desired)
