YMS Special Stars is a soccer program designed for children and young adults with special needs. In addition to being active and having fun, this program is dedicated to engaging the athlete on specially adapted soccer skill building and helping to teach these young men and women important lessons about self-pride and bravery, as well. Practices and games are structured to provide a stress-free opportunity for special athletes to engage in soccer, while fostering social skill building and interactions between the athletes and the volunteer buddies. Our goal is to enable the athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful soccer players of YMS!
*No prior soccer experience is necessary!*
- Open to boys and girls ages 3 through 19
- Location: Edgewood Elementary School
- Separate Fall & Spring seasons
- Fall runs early September thru early November
- Spring runs early April thru early June (no games Mother's Day weekend or Memorial Day weekend)
- Game Days: Sundays
- Game Times: 3:00-4:00 pm
- Fee: $50.00 per season
