ADDISON REYES

Small Addison Reyes Circle

With a focus on building confidence, creativity, and character, Addison Reyes has been a dynamic presence at YMS for the past five years. Originally from Philadelphia, Addison is known for his positive coaching style, energy on the field, and ability to connect with young players.

A graduate of New Foundations Charter High School, Addison brings firsthand experience and an intuitive feel for the game to every session. At YMS, he currently coaches multiple teams across age groups, including 2014 Boys Milan, 2015 Boys Bayen, and 2016 Boys Blue and Hotspurs. His versatility and dedication make him an essential part of the club’s developmental pipeline.

Addison’s coaching philosophy centers on creating an environment where kids feel confident, supported, and empowered to try new things and grow as both players and people. “It’s about making sure they enjoy the process and feel safe making mistakes,” he says.

One of his favorite moments at YMS came from coaching at the YMS Summer Camp, where he witnessed kids from different backgrounds come together, support each other, and grow into a team. It reflected everything he values in coaching: community, joy, and mutual respect.

For Addison, character development is inseparable from the game itself. “Youth soccer is not just for creating players. It’s for developing good humans,” he explains. He places a strong emphasis on communication, self-awareness, and emotional resilience.

What drives him as a coach is a commitment to lifelong learning—both for himself and his players. “I’m motivated to continue to improve so I can give kids the best possible experience. If I’m asking them to get better, I should too,” he says.

His advice to players facing challenges: “View every challenge as a tool for growth. You’ll come out better for it.”

Addison holds USSF F, E, D, and C Licenses, underscoring his dedication to coaching education and player development at every level.

Off the field, Addison enjoys gaming—especially first-person shooters and sports titles—and is a passionate supporter of Real Madrid. He brings that same sharp focus and tactical mindset into his coaching sessions each day.
