MICHAEL LINDEMANN
With over two decades of service at YMS, Michael Lindemann is one of the club’s most experienced and impactful coaches. Originally from Yardley, Pennsylvania, Michael has been part of the YMS community for more than 21 years as a coach, after spending 10 years as a player in the program.
During his youth playing career, Michael was a member of the YMS Mustangs and celebrated a major milestone by winning a State Title with the team—an achievement that helped define his early love for the game.
He attended Pennsbury High School, where he left a significant legacy across multiple sports. In his senior year, he earned the “Falcon Award” for Most Outstanding Athlete and was inducted into the Pennsbury Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018. He also earned First Team All-League honors in both soccer and volleyball during his final year, demonstrating his athletic versatility and leadership.
Michael went on to play varsity soccer at Penn State University, where he helped his team win the Big Ten Title during his sophomore year. That same year, he was recognized for academic excellence as a Verizon Academic All-American First Team selection.
At YMS, Michael currently serves as the Head Pee Wee Soccer Trainer and also coaches at Pennsbury High School. He holds a USSF E License, and is known for his structured, value-based coaching style.
“I help them develop work ethic, sportsmanship, and teamwork while creating a love for the game,” he shares.
Michael believes character development is central to youth soccer:
“It is key. I always try to incorporate good sportsmanship, hard work, and treating others with respect into my coaching.”
He’s passionate about making soccer fun and memorable—never more evident than in one of his favorite moments: dressing up as a dinosaur for the Pee Wee program to bring smiles to his youngest players.
What keeps him going after two decades?
“Seeing the players work hard and have fun.”
And when those players face adversity, he tells them:
“Challenges are inevitable and a part of any venture in life. Push through them and stay positive!”
Outside of soccer, Michael teaches high school physics and enjoys watching sports, gardening, and spending time outdoors. A dedicated supporter of Wrexham FC, he blends tactical insight with heartfelt connection in every session.
