Paulus Gipli, Jr. brings over a decade of coaching experience and deep commitment to youth development at YMS. He currently coaches the 2014 Boys Van Dijk and 2012 Boys Napoli teams, where he focuses on cultivating both skill and strong character in young athletes.

Originally from Bristol Township, PA, Paulus played for three seasons at YMS during his youth and later competed at the collegiate level at Otero Junior College and Louisiana State University of Alexandria. His playing career was highlighted by being named to the USA U14 National Team Pool, a prestigious recognition of his talent at an early age.

Paulus believes in maximizing every moment of training: “Thirty minutes of individual training can improve performance tremendously,” he says. He emphasizes repetition and personal accountability in player development while creating a team environment where players feel supported, challenged, and proud of their growth.

A favorite coaching memory for Paulus is traveling with his YMS teams over the weekends and seeing their collective growth and bonding through competition. He views coaching as a way to not only shape better soccer players, but stronger individuals, focusing heavily on the integration of life skills like responsibility, teamwork, and communication.

Paulus is currently a teacher assistant at Truman High School, continuing his passion for youth development in both academic and athletic settings. When he’s not on the field or in the classroom, he enjoys mentoring young people and following his favorite professional team, Liverpool FC.
