RICH FINNEYFROCK
Rich joined YMS in the spring of 2021 and brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to our club. Rich holds a USSF "A" License and is a former president of the Pennsylvania Futsal Association.
Rich graduated from Clemson University and won three ACC Conference Championships with the Tigers. He went on to play professionally for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Nashville Diamonds. Rich was head coach of the Philadelphia Freedom professional soccer team (1996-1997), winning the League Championship in 1997. He served as Assistant Coach for the Rider University Men's team in 1997-1998.
Rich has been the head coach at Villa Joseph Marie High School since 2004. During his tenure, the team has won five PIAA state championships (2004, 2005, 2007, 2014, 2018), and finished as PIAA state finalists four times (2017, 2016, 2015, 2011).
On the club side, Rich coached the FC Bucks Fury to an ECNL Region One Championship and USYS National Championship (2012), and the FC Bucks Cyclones to USYS Eastern Regional Championship (2014).
Rich has earned various coaching awards throughout his career, including National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Coach of the Year (2014), NSCAA Eastern Regional Coach of the Year (2007, 2014) and NSCAA Pennsylvania Coach of the Year (2005, 2007, 2014). Most recently, he was named the 2019-2020 NFHS Pennsylvania Girls' Soccer Coach of the Year.
