EMILY WINEBURG
Emily Wineburg brings a passionate, energetic, and player-focused approach to her role at YMS. A native of Bensalem, PA, Emily is in her first year coaching with the club and currently leads the YMS 2013G Celtic team. She played her high school soccer at Bensalem High School, where she was awarded the Miss Bensalem Award, and continued her playing career at the collegiate level at East Stroudsburg University, where she earned recognition as a PSAC Athlete of the Week.
As a coach, Emily’s philosophy centers around creating a positive and supportive environment where players feel encouraged to improve and challenge themselves. She values building a space where learning from mistakes is embraced, reminding her players that errors are a natural and necessary part of development. “Mistakes are part of learning,” she says, “so I encourage players to take risks and not be afraid of failure.”
Emily believes that character development is just as important as technical and tactical training. She focuses on instilling values such as respect, discipline, and resilience—tools she believes will serve players well beyond the field. Her coaching is grounded in consistent expectations, supportive feedback, and a clear passion for mentorship.
Though early in her YMS journey, Emily has already seen meaningful growth in her players. “Through my short time at YMS,” she shares, “my favorite success story is seeing how the girls have improved each week—from their technical ability to their communication and teamwork. It’s rewarding to see their confidence grow.”
She draws inspiration from the joy her players bring to every session. “The kids—their joy, laughter, and growth—make it all worth it,” she says, reflecting on what keeps her passionate and committed to coaching.
Off the field, Emily is pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and continues to find ways to merge her academic pursuits with her passion for youth development. She is also a loyal supporter of Manchester United and enjoys staying connected to the game at all levels.
