ELLIOT BALDWIN

Originally from Oxford, England, Elliot Baldwin brings a global perspective, collegiate playing experience, and a proven track record of team development to his coaching at YMS.

Elliot played collegiately at Georgian Court University, where he combined his education with high-level soccer, laying the foundation for his coaching career. One of his favorite memories as a player was winning the NCAA DII CACC Conference Championship, a moment that reflected years of dedication and competitive focus.

Now in his fourth year at YMS, Elliot leads multiple elite-level teams, including the 2012 Boys Dalglish ECNL-RL, 2011 Boys Union ECNL-RL, and the 2010 Boys United ECNL-RL. His teams consistently perform at the highest levels of competition, and one of his proudest accomplishments is leading the 2007 Boys Blackout to victory as the 2023 EPYSA U16 State Cup Champions.

Elliot holds a USSF B License, underscoring his commitment to coaching education and player development. In 2022, his impact on the game was further recognized when he was honored with the Promising Young Coach award from EDP, an award that reflects both his technical expertise and his dedication to mentoring young athletes.

His coaching philosophy centers around the belief that team development is the vehicle that drives individual growth. He views character development as a cornerstone of the player experience, emphasizing humility, accountability, and emotional maturity both on and off the field.

“My motivation lies within both team and individual development,” he says. “Seeing a group grow together, problem-solve collectively, and reach their goals—that’s what fuels me.” Elliot encourages his players to embrace the learning process and welcomes mistakes as essential steps in becoming smarter, more resilient athletes. “If challenges weren’t present and mistakes weren’t made, how would we ever improve?”

Outside of soccer, Elliot is a devoted husband—married to his wife, Britt, since 2020—and a proud father of two children. He is a passionate supporter of Arsenal Football Club, staying connected to the game at both the youth and professional levels.
