2026-27 TRYOUTS
Tryouts for YMS ECNL RL, Travel and Academy teams for the 2026-27 season begin on March 20, 2026. Read below for details and registration info. *Tryout dates are subject to change, please check your dates and times prior to going to the park.
AGE GROUP CHANGE FOR THE 2026-27 SEASON
Beginning with the 2026–27 season, U.S. Soccer is transitioning from birth-year age groups to school-year age groups (August 1 – July 31). Learn more HERE.
For the 2026-27 season, YMS is moving age group registrations from birth year to the school year model (August 1 - July 31). This change applies to all YMS levels of play and programming. Click on the link below to determine a player's age group based on their date of birth.
Players should plan to attend the tryout corresponding to their 2026–27 age group.
IMPORTANT TRYOUT INFORMATION
- All non-YMS players and current YMS Recreation players MUST REGISTER for tryouts and pay a fee of $20.
- Current YMS travel players DO NOT have to register, but they should mark their availability on TeamSnap.
- Players not currently on a YMS Academy/Travel/ECNL RL team will be given white tryout shirts when they check in. Current YMS players should wear their white jerseys.
- U8-U10 ACADEMY TEAMS & U11-U19 TRAVEL TEAMS
- The entire age group will participate in two tryouts that will be run by the age group trainers.
- Players should make every effort to attend both sessions.
- CURRENT NON-YMS ECNL & ECNL-RL PLAYERS
- Please register for tryouts if you have an interest in YMS.
- ECNL RULE: ECNL & ECNL RL players U14-U18 from outside of YMS are not permitted to attend tryouts prior to May 1 unless they can provide documentation that they have received permission from their current club.
- Documentation must be received prior to the tryout. Instructions on how to provide documentation will be sent after completion of the tryout registration.
- ECNL RULE: Current ECNL & ECNL RL players from outside YMS who do not wish to seek permission to try out prior to May 1 should still register for tryouts and you will be provided a date to try out May 1-7.
