Kennedy Cash
Kennedy Cash joins YMS in her first year as a trainer, bringing a passionate, player-centered approach shaped by years of personal playing experience and a deep academic interest in mental performance. Originally from Yardley, PA, Kennedy spent five years playing at YMS and went on to play collegiate soccer at Stevenson University after graduating from Calvary Christian Academy. During her college career, she earned All-Conference Second Team honors as a freshman, followed by All-Conference First Team selections from sophomore through senior year, reflecting her consistent impact on the field.
As a coach, Kennedy’s philosophy centers on building a positive, supportive environment where players can learn, grow, and build confidence through consistent effort. She encourages players to embrace their own learning curves and to take ownership of their growth. “Every player has a different path,” she says, “and it’s important to allow room for that growth, especially at a young age.”
Kennedy is also intentional about helping players overcome setbacks, both physically and mentally. “Challenges are a very real part of soccer,” she explains. “Whether it's physical, mental, or developmental, every player faces them at some point. I always advise players to verbalize the challenge and think of one way to achieve a solution. Challenges, when broken down, are nothing but a part of the journey.”
Character development is a core pillar of her coaching. She sees soccer not just as a sport, but as a vehicle to instill values like resilience, accountability, and self-belief. Her players are encouraged to take risks, embrace mistakes, and learn from both success and adversity.
Kennedy finds motivation in the opportunity to support and mentor her players—especially in helping them develop confidence both on and off the field. “What motivates me as a coach is the chance to be a role model,” she shares. “Being part of their growth is what makes coaching so rewarding.”
Off the field, Kennedy is pursuing her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at West Chester University, where she studies sports and performance psychology. This academic background directly informs her approach to coaching, as she integrates both mental and physical development into her sessions. A lifelong fan of the game, she supports the U.S. Women’s National Team, inspired by their resilience and impact on the sport.
