ETHAN RUPPERSBERGER
Ethan Ruppersberger is the Head Coach of the YMS Gunners and has been coaching with Yardley Makefield Soccer (YMS) for the past two years. A lifelong Yardley native and YMS player for over 16 years, Ethan’s roots run deep in the club. He played his high school soccer at Holy Ghost Prep and went on to play at the collegiate level for East Stroudsburg University, bringing a competitive playing background into his coaching.
Ethan is committed to developing players not just on the field, but in character and leadership as well. One of his favorite moments coaching at YMS was reaching the final in their first tournament of the season. “They showed resilience, composure, and teamwork all weekend,” he reflects. These qualities are central to Ethan’s coaching philosophy. He focuses on accountability, respect, and fostering individual growth, whether that means celebrating a player finding their voice or supporting a team learning from tough losses.
“What motivates me most as a coach is seeing players grow on and off the field,” Ethan says. “Whether it’s a new skill finally clicking or a quiet player finding their voice, those moments remind me why I do this. What keeps me passionate is the energy the kids bring every day and the constant learning the game offers.”
Outside of coaching, Ethan works with special needs students, helping them develop life and job skills—a role that echoes his purpose-driven approach to soccer. He also enjoys golfing, watching Manchester United, and is a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan.
