RACHEL BERI
With a passion for both personal growth and player development, Rachel Beri has become a vital part of the YMS coaching staff over the past seven years. Hailing from Levittown, Pennsylvania, Rachel is known for her ability to connect deeply with her players and guide them through both the technical and emotional sides of the game.
Rachel played her junior and senior years at YMS and was part of a National Championship-winning team, a career highlight that left a lasting impression and deepened her commitment to the game. She graduated from Pennsbury High School, where she also helped lead her high school team to 3 League Titles and a District Championship, showcasing her leadership and competitive edge early on.
She played collegiate soccer at Millersville University before transferring to Temple University, later continuing her academic pursuits at King’s College London. These diverse educational experiences shaped the thoughtful and global perspective she brings to coaching.
Rachel’s coaching style emphasizes developing both the player and the person. “It is integral to develop a player’s character just as much as their technical ability. We want them to leave YMS as good players, but even better people,” she says. She encourages accountability, effort, and self-awareness on and off the field.
One of her most memorable coaching moments came when her 2014 Roma team won their second-ever tournament—a moment that embodied growth, perseverance, and the excitement of young players discovering their potential.
Rachel holds both the USSF 7v7 Grassroots License and the USSF 9v9 Grassroots License, and she continues to invest in her coaching education to better serve her athletes.
Her motivation stems from watching players evolve in skill, confidence, and character. “Seeing my players develop over the course of the year—both in ability and mindset—is what keeps me passionate about coaching,” she says. She reminds her players to stay grounded, work hard, and focus on the things they can control—a mindset she models daily.
Off the field, Rachel enjoys spending time with her nephew and watching Premier League soccer, appreciating the quality and strategy across all clubs without allegiance to a single team.
