Special Stars League

Special Stars League Starts Sunday April 1st 2012

If new to program or would to learn more, we will have a meet & greet March 25th, 2012

YMS Soccer is excited and proud to continue our “Special Stars” soccer division, a program for school aged children and young adults with Autism and Aspergers. Our first practice will start April 1st at Edgewood Elementary School in Yardley, PA. If you are new or just curious about the Special Stars league, please join us on Sunday March 25th at 3pm at Edgewood to learn more about the program.

This is a family league and designed for the athletes to have fun, learn some soccer skills and enjoy non-competitive games. We will provide Mentors (Special Pals) and Coaches who will help and guide players and families during the practices and games, but we still require family support. This will help foster a better bonding experience as you see their growth week by week. All practices and games will be held on Sundays (official schedule to be posted shortly).

We Need Your Support:
We encourage active participants from the player’s family members, however we are also looking for this program to provide an area that other community members can help. We need volunteers and welcome all young adults, especially youth soccer players, that would like to help and get community service credit, to come out each week and support our program.

Also we urge college students whose studies include education / special education degrees to become active participants in the program.

The cost to join the league is $50.00 per player and you can go to the registration link to sign up by clicking here (post link)
